When I knew that I was going to China, I couldn’t believe that I was going to see one of the wonders of the world, the Great Wall of China. A day before going there, our tour guides told us to wear a lot of layers since its over tall mountains. For this reason, I decided to wear warm leggings, a T-shirt, a cardigan, a warm Columbia jacket and a cozy scarf over it. When we arrived it wasn’t as cold as I imagined, but there were some cold winds here and there. Before climbing the Great Wall, there was a long pathway with shops and tourists. Once we started climbing the steps, I realized how steep it was, and how difficult it was going to be to get to the top. Each step was a different size, making the climbing harder by not having a constant pace. Although it was tough to get to a high point on the wall, it was worth it. The view was amazing since you could see the wall all the way through the mountains, but I would have liked to see it on the summer since the trees weren’t green and everything seem dead. By that point I was sweating from climbing, so I shoved my jacket on my purse and continue on climbing further. What I enjoyed the most form that day was that there were so many people form different countries, I got the chance to meet people from the US, Italy, Russia, Germany, China and Spain. It was impressive to hear their stories form their travels and even some of them told me about the time they went to Mexico and loved it. After being on the Great Wall, we went to a small village where we took a bike ride and I got to see how people live there.
I guess this is it for the third day on Beijing, but expect to read more about the whole trip and everything that happened during my visit. Also, I will upload a travel diary to my youtube channel, so stay tuned for that.
